Wheeee! I'm back! =P

WOW~ It's been 8+months since I last blogged! :D So much so much had happened... where should I begin? Probably some major events (it will be a little too summarized! hehe) :

End of Aug'2010: SOT Graduation 2010!
The most amazing 6 months in my life. Get to know a lot of people, renewal of my mind, did a lot of things by God's amazing grace, get directions for both ministry & career... etc.

Sept - Nov'2010: Study M9, M5 & HI.
Pass all in 1st sitting by God's amazing grace! Really don't know how I did it. Sooooooooo difficult. I really thought I will fail & need to retake.

Oct'2010: Mum diagnosed with breast cancer, stage 2 ='(
In this period of time, I saw the love of my spiritual family swarming in. Samuel rushed down to NUH the moment I told him the news. Eugene called. Cg-members' smses came in. Main Choir IC gather e ICs to pray & wanted to visit. ChengJun, TingFeng, Eugene & MingYing came to visit mum at home. If w/o all their presence & support, it would have been much much more difficult. In the midst of all these, my sister & I know 1 thing: God's Hand is moving in my family for salvation.

Mid Nov'2010: Licensed as Financial Consultant by Prudential.
Finally! Think I don't know took like how many exams & testssssssss =.="

7 Nov'2010: Mum received Christ into her life! =)
Samuel fetched mum, sis & I to church in EXPO. We met lots of people personally in 1 day!
Nicholas Goh - when we arrived at carpark
Pastor Aries - when waiting for service to start
Lillian - prayed for mummy for healing!
Pastor Derek - saw him while we were about to leave! Samuel told him about my mum & he laid hands and prayed for her!
Eugene was also there to accompany us. He purposely asked someone to replace his morning work shift so that he can be with us. =)

24 December'2010: Family Christmas dinner at home.
1st time ever were they so open & willing to kind-of celebrate Christmas. They usually shun anything that is related to it. Thank God for such a breakthrough in my family! =)

February'2011: Chinese New Year
Mum stepped out of the house after about 3 months. Visited wai-po on 1st day. Due to fever, we went to A&E @ NUH with her on the 2nd day. 1st time spending CNY in hospital. Despite this, God is good. Mum got a free upgrade to A1 Ward as there was no room in B wards. So, we got a whole room to ourselves with sofa, LCD TV & toilet. :D At least mum can get a better place to rest & watch tv, and dad can slp on the sofa when accompanying her. =)

10 Feb'2011: Acquainted with Sheryl
Invited Sheryl to our house for CNY day 2, but as mum was warded, the plan was aborted. Hence we decided to meet up for movie some other time. Went for movie at Tiong Bahru 1 evening. After that, went for a drink at McCafe & chitchat. Amazingly, we had lots of common grounds, topics & chatted till like 11++pm!!! LOL. Invited her to stay-over at my place & we chitchat till 3-4am (i think)! Amazing. So this is how our friendship blossoms =)

March - Now: Valley
Had been struggling in my career. Thoughts of finding other jobs, giving up, do part-time etc all came flooding in 1 by 1. But I know God will see me through. Lord, let Your will be done in me...

In the midst of this, I thank God for an understanding & supportive boss, as well as loving colleagues. Also, I thank God for giving me a sunshine friend, Sheryl, whom really through her blesses my soul. Laughing, joking, cranky-ing, eating, talking, singing etc. I have been whining & pouring out to her for the past don't know how many weeks. HaHaHa.

In the valley, I shall see Jesus, my Savior, closer than ever before.
In my weakness, I shall experience His strength.
In my ugliness, I shall see the beauty of my Lord.
In my brokenness, I see His affection & grace.

In my darkest hour, You are my Light.
In my deepest valley, You filled me with the richness of Your love.
In the end of time, You are all I ever want.

City Harvest Bible Training Centre - School of Theology 2010 (Batch 16)

After all the months of planning (work & finances) and waiting for school to start, SOT finally kicked start this week!

It was not how i had expected to start at all. In my mind, i picture lots of fun in getting to meet new people & my team mates, play games, and have a good shopping before the Youth Meeting in Expo with Pastor Kong.

But... Surprised! I fell sick. hahaha...

I was running serious fever (not sure how high as i never measure) on Monday morning around 4am+ (i was supposed to wake up at 5.30am for 1st day of school). Popped 2 panadol and ate some food. I really thank God the medicine worked super fast. Within 5mins, i was sweating profusely... even when i was on my way to school i kept sweating & sweating. This really bring the fever down. The fever came back after the orientation game (where we walked around Jurong West under the super hot sun)... but i really thank God for sustaining me throughout the long day... and i managed to go for the Youth Meeting.

Okay, i am just going to summarize the Orientation Day's events...

7am: Met Shengwei at CCK MRT Station.
7.50am: Reached Church. Registered. Take our name-tags & orientation booklet.
8.10am: Settled down in main sanctuary at basement 4.
8.45am: Orientation started.
11.30am: Team bonding game.
1pm: Back in Church to submit our photos & items (for the game).
1-2pm: Lunch at level 4.
2pm: Game's top 3 winning teams announced. (MY TEAM WON 3rd! $200 Attributes vouchers =D)

3-5pm: Came home, took panadol & food, napped for 2 hours.
5.30pm: Met Shengwei at Jurong East, together with my sister - headed for Expo.
7.30-10.30pm: Youth Meeting with Pastor Kong.
11pm: Cabbed back. (thanks to my sis & shengwei for being willing to take cab with me as i was really sick & feverish... very ka-ching$!)
11.30pm: Home sweet home!

I was on MC the next day (1st official school day!). hahaha. Actually i was quite dishearten on Monday morning. I was like "why like that?" But something came into my heart and gave me a lot of strength: satan is striking right on the very 1st day... there must be something threatening to him about me going to school huh!!!

I really thank God for this! He gave me all the strength i need to keep pressing forward this very long day while i was very sick. GOD is good! His grace is sufficient for me! ^^

I am looking forward to the 2nd week of school starting tomorrow! :D

Before I end... picture time!

Update again! May all of you have a God blessed week! :D

Angel

Had a really bad sore throat last Tuesday night. So pain that it woke me up in the middle of the night. The thing is, it is not just the pain that woke me up. I heard someone talking to me. The voice said: "Go drink water... lots of water to help flush down the germs... you will be okay in 3 days." I got out of my bed half awake, stumble to my desk & open my water bottle to drink... then went back to sleep, not paying attention about the voice & who was it.

The next morning, i woke up... and i was reminded of that voice. I can remember the exact words & knowing that he/she was on my left side when i heard the voice. Although i was half awake, the voice & the whole situation was very sharp in my mind. "Who's that???" Then, somehow i felt, it was an angel.

I wanted to confirm... because if it is from God, the words will come to pass... also i wanted to make sure i wasn't just dreaming (the feeling was very different from dreams). So i counted. Wednesday 1st day... means by Friday will be 3 days. Thursday, throat still a little pain. But on Friday, the pain completely gone! How amazing is that! Just as the voice said: "...you will be okay in 3 days."

Totally. New. Experience.

I am touched. Really touched. That God cares for me. Just a sore throat... yet He sent His angel to pay me a visit & give me a Word of "prescription". He indeed cares for us. Every little thing, He cares. He is a loving Father, caring for us non-stop, and sending His angels to guard our steps. We may not see them, but they are around.

For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways. [Psalm 91:11]

The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him,
And delivers them. [Psalm 34:7]

Have a blessed week! =) Anyway, a song by Delirious? ...

Take Off My Shoes

I’ll take off my shoes, I’m coming in,
Untie this rope, I’m staying with Him,
Love of my life, I’ll live and die,
Just for the moments for my King and I.

Why did You call, why did You wait,
For someone so guilty, someone so fake.
There are no words for my beautiful song,
Now I’m in the arms of my beautiful One.

Hold me, blow all the pride from my bones,
With Your fire.
Hold me, breathe on this heart made of stone,
Keep it pure.
Hold me, Saviour of heaven and earth,
King forever.
Hold me, love of my life lead me on,
Through the fire, lead me on...

I’ll take off this crown and fall at Your feet,
The secret of joy are the moments we meet.
How could a man with all of Your fame,
Pull me from darkness and call me by name.

So hold me today, as I carry Your cross,
Into the desert to find who is lost.
Look at my hands, they’re still full of faith,
God keep them clean till we finish the race.

Last Post of 2009

Time flies. It's the last day of 2009. So many things happened the past 12 months. Made quite a few big decisions... which i pray that it will turn out great in 2010. Also accomplished many big+little things this year.

Storms of Life
By the grace of God, I had overcome one of the greatest storm in my life this year. It wasn't pleasant... but i realized i learn the most in my pain, and i saw the light of Jesus shining the brightest in my darkest hours. At one point, i found myself smiling in joy (not happiness) while my heart & soul were in pain. I was amazed myself. It was then the Word of God came alive. The joy of the Lord became my strength. He also let me know in my heart that He allowed the pain to come so that i can get over it & heal faster. Looking back now, He is right. If nothing happen, i may need to take a year or more to get over & healed... but with His loving grace & wise plan, i was delivered from it faster than i thought i would need. Within 1-2 months, i was well. (before that, it had been dragged for about 5-6months, and still not healed). GOD's lovingkindness and mercy is really on all His children. =)

SOT
I've enrolled into SOT. Didn't plan about it at all... just came to me suddenly. I was pondering "should i or should i not?" Then this thought came to me: "will i regret if i go?" The answer in me was a firm "NO." I believe it will be a wise choice to invest some earthly time to build on something that will last for eternity. I also wanted to learn more about God's Word, as well as get myself equipped before stepping back to fulltime in the working society.

Work

I thank God for providing me job opportunities to help me to earn some pocket money. Also, He blessed me with a good paying job as a tutor (to pay for SOT) with working hours that can fit into my SOT timetable. God also had been giving me the favor of man at work =)

Graduate

My last semester's exam's preparation was not very smooth. I was juggling between my studies and my tutor-training lessons. I wonder will i make it... but the grace of God sees me through! I managed to cope well & study all that i need. He blessed me with wisdom when i asked. I always claimed this promise: "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." [James 1:5] God always made it come to pass! :D I passed all 4 modules with Bs... including 1 subject that i had a hard time answering the questions in exam. PRAISE GOD!

Mummy

My mum went for the op before my exam... which adds on another load to my exam preparation. But God is good. He healed my mum. Me & my sister knew the Hands of God was upon her. While others in her ward (all similar operations) were in much pain, my mum was amazingly well. She don't really feel much pain. Now (after 2 months), she can do most of the usual things (walk, shop, play mahjong, cook, clean abit etc) except for carrying heavy stuff & bending down. We had heard situations of other ppl that went for the same op, but still not well & in pain after 3 months. I really really thank God for His love, mercy & grace upon my family. ^^

Moving on to 2010

As much as 2009 had been quite a challenging but fruitful journey, I am looking forward to 2010 with God Almighty. I wonder where will He lead me in the next 1 year to come. Stepping into the unknown... How exciting!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to ALL OF YOU !!!

GOD BLESS YOU & YOUR FAMILY!

Happenings so far

Greetings to all my faithful readers! It's been quite sometime since I blogged... so long till i forget a lot of things that i wanted to blog about... :D well, i shall try to recall and see what can i retrieve from my long-term memory & put it into my working memory (ok... too much psychology books... haha...).

Graduate lo!
Last week I sat for my last 2 paper (if i pass all my 4 papers). While i studied, i had this bitter-sweet feeling. Bitter bcos i really dislike memorizing for exams. Sweet? I looked back at all these years after i came to know the Lord, remembering how He had always been with me when i was studying for exams. In good time He is there. In harsh times, i saw His Hands even clearer. The peace, sound-mind, and His wisdom that i've asked for during exam days... all these never fails. In busy time (while i was juggling between working full-time & studying), He gave me the grace to pull through all my assignments & to pass my exams - even when i only have 2-3days to study/read hundreds of pages. Without God, i won't be able to make it. By His grace, i'm here. He is amazing, beyond words.

Revelations
The weeks while i was studying for my exams, God revealed things to my heart, and i pen it down on my post-it pad.

1.) God alone is our Source of growth. He alone is enough.
Indeed, relationships are impt, and God uses them to mould & shape us. But relationships with others is not the main thing. It helps, but it is not the source of our growth.

2.) The night before Rev. Robb Thompson's service, i was telling God quite some stuff... about knowing God in the mind & heart is different etc... then, sat service came. God spoke through Rev. Robb Thompson to me! God confirmed all those things that i've mentioned in my prayer just the very night before. Almost everything Rev. Robb was saying, i was 'wow-ing'... GOD IS AMAZING!!!

3.) Jesus' Source of growth while on earth is God the Father & the Holy Spirit.
Jesus do not have a perfect human example to follow... no spiritual leaders can be above Him... yet He remains perfect & sinless. Isn't that amazing? Because He continually communicates with the Father & Holy Spirit... He is in communion with Them. This again shows that God alone is our Source of growth & spirituality. And bcos of Jesus' perfect life, He gave us access to the Father & Holy Spirit through Him! I knew this all along... but this time... i really saw it in a different light. What a previledge! What an awesome gift of salvation! God indeed soooooo love us, that He gave His only Son to die for our sins bcos we cannot save ourselves, so that we can have relationship with Him!!!

Gyu Kaku
Went to Holland Village's branch for the 1st time. It's pretty cozy. They have Wagyu Beef buffet over there... and i think it was very worth it. I had a new favourite dish there: Shabu Shabu! The beef is super thin & very nice to eat with their tare-sauce. Thanks to Marcus for the treat!

Counseling Ministry Retreat
It's my 1st time going retreat with church! Feeling a bit excited & also nervous... cos i dunno anyone who are going... =( But i believe it will be a very spiritually-charged 3 days & a lot to learn. wonder...

I wonder what would a human give for love. God gave everything bcos of His love for us. What about us?

Through the years... I saw how weak our love for God is. We exchanged His priceless relationship with so many rubbish. To name a few...

  • Eternity with God vs. earthly, lifetime relationship
  • Prayer time vs. busyness (with everything)
  • His presence vs. company of others

Is it worth it?

I asked God...

I asked God...

I asked God why I wasn't rich.
He showed me a man with the wealth of a thousand kings,
who was lonely, and had no one to share it with.
I asked God why I wasn't beautiful.
He showed me a woman more beautiful than any other,
who was ugly because of her vanity.
I asked God why He'd allowed me to become old.
He showed me a boy of 16,

who lay dead at the scene of a car accident.
I
asked God why I didn't have a bigger house.
H
e showed me a family of six,
who had just been evicted from their tiny shack,

and were forced, to live on the street.

I
asked God why I had to work.
H
e showed me a man, who couldn't find a decent job,
because he'd never learned to read.

I
asked God why I wasn't more popular.
H
e showed me a socialite with a thousand friends,
who all left the moment the money and parties were no longer there.

I
asked God why I wasn't smarter.
H
e showed me a natural born genius,
serving life in prison for making ill use of his knowledge.

I
asked God why He put up with a thankless sinner like me.

He showed me His Bible.

He showed me His Son

who took my place at the judgment.

I knew then how much He loved me.

What's eating you today?

Are your problems weighing heavy on your heart?

Know, then, that you are loved.

Have a WONDERFUL day!

Then brighten someone else's day, in any way you care to.

Remember, a candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.

Just reach out and touch someone's life and brighten up his or her day.

I've Been Through The Storm, But Look At Me I'm Still Standing, I'm Still Here.........

If it doesn't kill you... it will make you stronger.

"If you see people without a smile today, give them one of yours!"

AMAZING GRACE (MY CHAINS ARE GONE)

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found
Was blind, but now I see

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy reigns
Unending love, Amazing grace

The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow
The sun forbear to shine
But God, Who called me here below
Will be forever mine
Will be forever mine
You are forever mine
